Description

Emergency Medicine physician coverage is needed in Oklahoma for true ED shifts across a Level III trauma setting, with priority for nights, weekends, and select holidays. Expect steady volume, Epic charting, and no call.

Highlights

• Open to candidates holding active IMLC (LOQ)
• Priority need for nights and weekends, easy to stack shifts around an existing schedule
• Level III trauma ED with consultant access including cardiology, surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, urology, and tele neurology

Practice Setting

• Emergency department coverage, 17 beds
• Typical volume 20 to 25 patients per shift
• Admission rate around 15 percent
• On shift support includes 6 RNs, 3 MAs, 1 to 2 PA or NPs, and 2 office staff

Schedule

• Ongoing need, 8 to 10 shifts per month
• Primary coverage need is nights, weekends, and holidays
• Common shifts include 6:00p to 6:00a and 4:00p to 3:00a
• Day shifts may be available, but are secondary to the night and weekend need

Cases and Procedures

• General Emergency Medicine acuity in a Level III trauma environment
• Expected ED procedures include airway management and vascular access such as intubations and central lines

Requirements

• Must be an MD or DO
• Emergency Medicine residency trained and board certified in Emergency Medicine
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Oklahoma license required, active IMLC LOQ may be considered
