Interventional Radiologist (IR/DR) | Physician-Owned Private Practice | Partnership Track | Santa Barbara, CA
Pueblo Radiology Associates is a physician-owned radiology practice serving the beautiful Central Coast of California, seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Interventional Radiologist to join our group.
This is a predominantly interventional position with approximately 80% IR and 20% diagnostic radiology, serving primarily at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, a 519-bed Level I Trauma Center. No MSK or mammography responsibilities are required.
Our interventional radiologists perform the full range of IR procedures. Types of cases include:
PE/DVT Thrombectomy
Radioembolization/Chemoembolization (Y90/TACE)
Tumor Ablation (MWA, Cryoablation)
Miscellaneous Angiography and Embolization
Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE)
Prostate Artery Embolization (PAE)
Trauma Intervention
IVC Filter Placement/Retrieval
Urological Intervention
Biliary Intervention
Portal Intervention (TIPS/CARTO/BRTO)
Venous Access
CT Intervention (Drains and Biopsies)
Thoracentesis / Paracentesis
Position Details
Location: Primarily Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with additional coverage within Pueblo Radiology Associates
Schedule: Hybrid interventional and diagnostic radiology, approximately 80% interventional radiology and 20% diagnostic including remote opportunities. No MSK or mammography required.
Call: Q4 Interventional radiology call, NO weekend diagnostic call. Call is generally split into Monday–Thursday and Friday–Sunday blocks with the post-call day off following weekend call.
Clinical Support: Inpatient service and outpatient clinics supported by full-time advanced practice providers; PAs assist with outpatient consults, inpatient rounding and minor procedures.
Technology: IntelePACS, InteleOrchestrator (formerly Clario), and Fluency. Sectra PACS.
Academic & Collaborative Engagement: Active participation in multidisciplinary committees and tumor boards.
Partnership & Compensation
Partnership Track: Two-year track to partnership for physicians directly out of training; one-year track for candidates with relevant prior post-training experience.
Associate Salary: $425,000 in year one and $450,000 in year two.
Partner Compensation: Total partner compensation in 2025 ranged from approximately $850,000 to $1.07M, with a median exceeding $900,000. Average partner compensation has increased year over year for the last five years.
Time Off: Associates average approximately 10 weeks off per year (8 weeks PTO with additional postcall DOFs); partners averaged 13.2 weeks of time off in 2025.

About Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital
SBCH is a 519-bed, not-for-profit acute care teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center, the largest between Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area. A teaching hospital since 1923, Cottage trains resident physicians across multiple ACGME-accredited programs, including diagnostic radiology, and serves a broad regional referral base.
